Your landscape. Your story.

Movement is happening all around us.

Wind bending grass. Water running through a creek. Wildlife moving across Country. Clouds gathering, tides shifting and people caring for the land.

Lands in Motion invites young photographers to step outside, get curious and capture the way the WA Rangelands move, change and come alive.

2026 is the International Year of Rangelands and Pasturalists

Let's Celebrate the Land.

International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026

The Lands in Motion Photography Competition celebrates the United Nations International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists 2026. Through photography, you can explore the landscapes, people and practices that shape your rangelands and share the stories you discover, with the world. Here are some ideas to help you get started:

Wind

Grasses bending, leaves dancing or dust lifting from a track.

Water

A flowing creek, waves rolling in or rain splattering the land.

Wildlife

Birds in flight, insects at work or animals on the move.

People

Caring for Country, working on the land or moving through it.

Weather

Clouds building, light shifting or a storm approaching.

Change

New growth, worn rocks or signs of the landscape transforming.

A prize for the whole family

See where curiosity can take you.

One of the fantastic prizes is an annual family pass to Scitech, with a full year of discovery, experiments and big ideas.
